Hello Again!

Hejsa, everyone!

This week has been a wonderful week here in Roskilde. Spring has come in full force. Last week we had snow, this week it has been a balmy 18 degrees celsius without a cloud in the sky. It has just been delightful! The Danes have all come out of hibernation and Denmark is alive once more!

Missionaries at the Fjord

On a missionary stand point, I will describe it through scripture.

(Alma 29)
1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth.

3 But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto me.

9 I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

(Ether 12)
26 And when I had said this, the Lord spake unto me, saying: Fools mock, but they shall mourn; and my grace is sufficient for the meek, that they shall take no advantage of your weakness;

27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

28 Behold, I will show unto the Gentiles their weakness, and I will show unto them that faith, hope and charity bringeth unto me—the fountain of all righteousness.

29 And I, Moroni, having heard these words, was comforted, and said: O Lord, thy righteous will be done, for I know that thou workest unto the children of men according to their faith;

(Alma 36:3)
…for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.

It has been a rather long week, to be entirely honest, but those come. We need long weeks to help us appreciate the really fun and miraculous ones. There is opposition in all things. I love this work. I love this land, and I have loved every moment of my mission, because you learn so much from each and every experience.

On that note, it was mother’s day, everyone! I just thought I would share some thoughts on my own angel mother and voice my appreciation for her. My darling mother has a heart of gold. She is so sincere and observant on the feelings of others and she always knows how to best comfort and bring others to Christ. She helps everyone feel the love that God has for them, and she is such a beautiful example to me of Christlike love and patience and charity. She has always been there to cheer me on. Even when she has the whole world on her shoulders, she takes her precious time to help me with school, friends, and to pick me up when I am feeling down. I will always be in her debt for all the love she has given me in my life. I love you, mom!!!
